The holiday season has me feeling a bit like a Scrooge. Am I the only one? I sure hope not. I should let the spirit of Ebenezer go, and embrace the spirit of Espo instead.
So what the hell is the spirit of Espo, exactly? What's the central theme of this week's show? Like, what was the author's symbolic intent, man? I don't know, follow your dreams, shots for Jesus's birthday, the true meaning of xmas is tax deductible gift giving, or some other bullshit like that. I think I might be on a war footing, so tread lightly if you dare.
Here is the only message I honestly wish to deliver this week: Happy Holidays, my friends.
May it be full of family and friends and love and laughter. And maybe some around-the-clock sporting action as well (sorry Mimi). Remember to leave out some buffalo wings and Dr. Pepper for Espo under your tree. And tell your parents, sisters, brothers, cousins, grandpas, grandmas, aunts and uncles that you love them. Give them a big hug. For if you don't, I will send Belsnickel will haunt your dreams for all Christmases, Hanukkahs, Kwanzaas, Yules, and New Years Six Bowls to come.
